History

The origins of Cerâmica do Liz go back to 1897 but the company legal constitution was done in 1930. For decades Cerâmica do Liz has been combining the manufacturing of refractories with the continuous development of new materials and concepts for use in ceramic kilns, kiln cars, furnaces and industrial chimneys. Today - 90 years later – through many innovations in design, materials, and manufacturing processes Cerâmica do Liz has earned an international reputation for the quality of its refractory products and systems.

Presently Liz refractories are manufactured under stringent quality control (Quality management system ISO 9001:2015 in two specialized production centers located at Leiria and Sintra in Portugal. Our company combines tradition, experience and top quality refractory products with future oriented concepts and entirely tailor-made solutions from one source
